Painting is hard. I have not worked on any paintings since June. That is not to say I have not been working, I have been preparing the artwork for some prints and working on design jobs but, I have not so much as touched a paint brush. After nearly two months away, I can say for certain… painting is hard. For the last two weeks I have been terrified to jump back into the paintings I left unfinished, procrastinating for fear of screwing up what was already established on the canvas. Today was the day to put that behind me and make the leap. Every stroke fought me and I spent nearly as much time wiping mistakes off the canvas as I did putting paint on. Anyways, after a (stressful) day of painting, progress was made so, I guess that is all what counts in the end. More progress on Nikki’s transformation (finaly):

More live music at good old studio 11. My roommate has organized an interesting show that will happen on Friday August 14th. Anyone who is in the Boston area and wants to support some hard working and creative musicians should come on down. Between being temporarily homeless while a movie was filmed in my studio and getting busy with design work, I have not managed to work on any new paintings in the last month!  Where does the time go?  I am looking forward to getting back to making art but, in the mean time, here is a recent painting that I never got around to posting on the blog.

Made a few updates to my website.  Finally got around to organizing the sidebar content and adding some links.  You probably won’t notice or care but, the improvements make me happy.  Soon I should have a new header image and pigs may fly when I finally put up an artist statement (Bob, if you are reading, expect me to beg and barter for help writing it).
