Our annual open studios is coming up fast (this weekend!) so obviously instead of finishing off the paintings that are already in progress, I have started another large piece. Last year for open studios I finished a this painting of my lovely friend Kellen. It was always one of my favorites but compared to the new large paintings, it was starting to feel more like a study for something better. She is such a pretty girl with amazing freckles and deserves more. So, with that in mind I couldn’t resist starting a second, larger painting of Kellen.

As you can see, there is a lot of work to do but it is off to a good start.
